First, following on yesterday's rambling post, I've had a chance to very briefly skim "Scholarship in the Digital Age: Information, Infrastructure, and the Internet" by Christine Borgman. If you're into those sorts of issues, it is a pretty nice place to start. It doesn't quite play the "Ah ha!" type of changes that change the game entirely, but presents the problems that will be encountered by slow, methodical changes.
Next, congrats to Ethan (one of our "NIH kids") for his work on new review of reward systems! Ethan is a great teacher, and I expect a hydrocephalic hamster could walk away from this paper with a complete understanding of the topic.
